Beatrix has extensive experience in accident compensation matters. Although Beatrix is based in Wellington, she is able to represent claimants across New Zealand in all areas of ACC law including ACC reviews, appeals in the District Court, High Court and Court of Appeal.
A selection of recent and notable ACC cases are found below:
- Accident Compensation Corporation v TN [2023] NZCA 664 (Court of Appeal): lead counsel for successful respondent in test case brought by ACC relating to availability of loss of potential earnings to victim of childhood sexual abuse, requiring consideration of accident compensation legislation text, context, and purpose.
- Accident Compensation Corporation v Calver (Court of Appeal): lead counsel for successful respondent in test case involving issues of statutory interpretation with respect to whether an asbestos related cancer (mesothelioma) could be covered if exposure occurred outside the workplace.
- Accident Compensation Corporation v D [2023] NZHC 266 (High Court): lead counsel for successful respondent in a test case relating to scope of cover for injuries that occurred outside of New Zealand.

- Rory Nairn Inquest CSU-2021-DUN-000335 (2024): concerning the death of a young male from myocarditis as caused by the Comirnaty vaccine.

Beatrix is a duty lawyer for mental health hearings and can assist on matters regarding status under the Mental Health Act including applications to be discharged from the hospital (section 16 applications), or applications made for compulsory treatment orders (compulsory treatment order hearings and mental health review tribunal hearings).
